A Junction Town Without a Water Story
Tolono grew up around an 1856 rail junction rather than a river, and its early population was largely tied to railroad work rather than farming or water access. Without a natural water feature shaping the town, moisture issues here trace mainly to the county's underlying prairie soil and drainage, not to any local flood history.
